Zipp Aero Race BibShort/Short, Zipp Team Jersey and Zipp Aero Race Jersey are now available in the Zipp Store and at your local bicycle shop

Zipp Aero Race Jersey

Every second counts and when it comes to your performance on the bike even small gains make a big difference. Wind tunnel testing shows that the Zipp Aero Race Jersey save 9 watts when riding with your hands on the hoods at 40km/h. That’s about 36 seconds saved every hour.

The light weight fabric offers an aerodynamic advantage and body temperature can be regulated with base layers. The Aero Race advances technology in the neck and arm areas where it gets the use of Giro++ grippers to create absolute form fit in critical airflow areas. A tight knit mesh back gives body heat release while still offering UV protection. ¼ front zipper. 3 pockets in rear.

Temperature Range: 58+ Fahrenheit

Weight: 109g

Sizes: S-XXL

Zipp Team Jersey

The ultimate day-to-day cycling jersey. The cut is extremely anatomic for on-the-bike comfort. The sleeves come out the front, not the sides. It’s also a bit tight across the chest once you first put it on but once on the bike the fit is perfect.

Castelli’s Prosecco® fabric treatment quickly wicks moisture to the outside of the fabric, keeping you drier. The Team jersey gives you riding comfort for training, but you should use the Aero Race jersey for a competitive advantage of 9 watts. Full front zipper. 3 pockets in rear.

Temperature Range: 58+ Fahrenheit

Weight: 114g

Sizes: S-XXL

Zipp Aero Race Bibshort or Short

This is the famous Castelli Free Bibshort adapted for pro team use. Nothing is spared in terms of comfort and performance. The AC pad features flatlock stitching, the Giro++ patented gripper, and the Free bib that keeps your chest free and cool.

It’s designed to help you perform better by eliminating pressure points that restrict blood flow, getting oxygen to the muscles. And the leg opening? It’s designed not to overly constrict blood flow at the bottom of the short, while holding it in place.

Why are the straps positioned so wide? The straps are there to hold up the short so, less is more. The other benefit is that the bib doesn’t affect temperature control since it doesn’t add an extra layer over part of your torso, making it easier to dress for hot weather.

Temperature Range: 58+ Fahrenheit

Weight: 145g

Sizes: S-XXL

ZIPP BOLSTERS TRIATHLON SPONSORSHIPS FOR 2010 AND BEYOND

For Immediate Release

Speedway, Indiana – Zipp Speed Weaponry, makers of the world’s fastest wheels and components, have strengthened their already star-studded roster of sponsored triathletes with new signings and key contract extensions.

Joining the Zipp family will be husband-and-wife teams Greg and Laura Bennett, and Michael and Amanda Lovato, plus 2012 Olympic hopeful Jenna Shoemaker. She will also use SRAM components in 2010.

Extending athletes

Long-course star and 2009 Wildflower champion, Virginia Berasategui (Spain) will again compete on Zipp wheels and Tangente tires, and SRAM components. CNC machined from a unique composite material, the Tangente pad combines the stopping performance and durability of a synthetic polymer with the heat resistance and smooth feel of cork.

The Tangente operates at a lower temperature than any rubber-based pad.

Reduces risk of rolled tubular tires and carbon clincher rim damage
Leaves no melted pad residue that can cause brake pulsation
Reduces pulsation from rims with previous residue buildup
Can extend wheelset life up to four times compared to rubber-based pads

The Tangente offers better overall stopping performance than any other carbon-specific pad.

Composite material offers greater stopping power than traditional cork.
Less “grabby” than rubber for improved braking modulation.
Unique “arrowhead” shape improves wet-weather performance relative to all other cork pads and most rubber pads.

The Tangente is the most durable carbon-specific pad available.

Cork-polymer composite material wears longer than traditional cork.
Composite material wears similarly to low-temperature rubber but Tangente pad is .5mm thicker than most carbon-specific rubber pads.

Like Zipp wheels, the Tangente High Performance Cork Brake Pad is made in the USA. Pads are sold in packs of 4 through authorized Zipp retailers and at Zipp.com for $75 US. Pads for Shimano and SRAM brakes are available now; a Campagnolo-compatible version will be available soon.

The Tangente pad may be used on any tubular or clincher rim with a carbon braking surface, but it should never be used on aluminum braking surfaces.

Zipp Speed Weaponry was founded in 1988 with the sole mission of making athletes faster on their bikes. The finish line will be positioned at Cedar Point and is sure to be one of the most spectacular finish line experiences around!
“Our immediate goal is to make triathlons a more interactive, enjoyable experience for spectators and family members by providing fun activities for children and family members during the race. We’re about change. Change for the age grouper, change for the professional athlete, and change for the spectators,” claims Todd Gollnick, Rev3 Race Director.
"We are honored and excited to be the host for the Revolution3 event. It's world class athletes competing at a world class facility. Sandusky welcomes each of the athletes and their families with open arms," stated Matt Kline, City Manager, Sandusky, Ohio.
For more information about Revolution3 and the race series, visit www.rev3tri.com. With changes to the rim shape that improve nearly every aspect of performance, the new 303 will be used by athletes ranging from Tour de France sprinters to Olympic triathlon gold medalist Emma Snowsill.

Incorporating the knowledge gained from the recent improvements to Zipp’s workhorse 404 and 808 wheelsets, the 303’s radical new shape yields 12 seconds of aerodynamic savings over 40km versus its predecessor yet maintains stability in crosswinds, even for smaller riders like Snowsill and Vanessa Fernandes. An excellent choice for hillier courses, the 303 wheelset tips the scales at just 1182 grams. Although just 101 grams heavier than the 202, Zipp’s lightest wheelset, the 303 is significantly more aerodynamic than any dedicated climbing wheelset available.

At the same time, the new 303 performs better than ever when faced with rough roads and rugged weather. Without adding a gram, Zipp has widened the 303’s rim from

22.3mm to 27.5mm with a slight rim depth increase from 44mm to 45mm. These changes substantially improve the already superb impact resistance of Zipp’s Carbon

Bridge™ technology while offering a more comfortable, forgiving radial stiffness that will benefit triathletes on both the bike and the run. At the same time, the wider, deeper rim increases the 303’s lateral stiffness for cornering and accelerations. Another benefit is that wider tires, like the new 23mm version of Zipp’s dimpled Tangente tire, have a minimal impact on the wheel’s aerodynamics.

Additionally, the 303’s tire bed has been redesigned to protect against tire damage and for more precise mounting of tubular tires. In poor conditions, riders will appreciate the improved brake modulation of the new 303’s angled brake track. Like all Zipp carbon rims, the 303 is marked by Zipp’s unmistakable ABLC™ dimples. The 303 includes Zipp’s new 88 front and 188 rear hubs that feature oversize 17mm axles, higher flanges, and adjustable bearing preload. Steel skewers, 18 front and 24

rear SAPIM CX-Ray spokes, and Swiss steel bearings more precise than many ceramic upgrades complete the package. M.S.R.P. is $2,285 U.S. The 303 wheelset is

handmade in Speedway, Indiana and part of Zipp’s wheel lineup ridden by nearly 1,000 competitors at Kona in 2008.

About Zipp

Zipp Speed Weaponry was founded in 1988 with the sole mission of making athletes faster on their bikes. Over the course of the last twenty years, Zipp has done exactly

that, by drawing on its core competencies of design engineering, composites knowledge, and wind tunnel development. It is these competencies that have allowed

Zipp to deliver a series of firsts in the cycling industry. From the first carbon disc wheel to the first carbon crank to the first wheel to achieve negative drag in the wind tunnel. These firsts have helped Zipp athletes to become champions in the toughest races in the world, on the fiercest roads in the world, from the cobbled roads of Belgium to the Queen K in Kona.
